Last month i did rather a lot of shopping, especially when it comes to beauty! I tend to stick to what I know works when it comes to my skincare routine, however recently the nice weather in England has left my skin has feeling rather dry and in need of some TLC.
So here’s a rundown of everything I bought. As one of my goals for 2018 was to switch to cruelty free products, everything in this post is cruelty free, and I was super excited to try some new things!
Nyx worth the hype mascara
I loved this mascara! When I first started buying cruelty free I invested in one of the elf mascaras (I can’t remember which one) but was left a little disappointed. So when I tried this for the first time I was soooo happy! It makes my lashes twice as big and you only need to apply once for the results to be visible!
Nyx epic ink liner
I also bought the NYC epic ink liner, and I love this too! Its like a pen and is super easy to apply. This makes my morning makeup routine a lot quicker, as even when I get up at 4.30am for work I still do my usual winged eyeliner (I feel naked without it!)
Superdrug’s vitamin C invigorating skin boost
I have to admit this was definitely an ‘oooh this looks cool’ / spontaneous purchase. I have never used a product like this and normally only stick to moisturiser, but recently Ive started either applying this to my face after cleansing and moisturising later, or if I’m being lazy I’ll mix the two together and apply it. It smells amazing and I’m not sure if my skin looks any brighter but it always leaves it feeling softer!
Lush’s rosy cheeks face mask
If you’ve read any of my other beauty blog posts you’ll know this is my absolute favourite lush face mask – I cant leave lush without investing in another tub of this! It smells sweet and floral, and has a clay-like consistency. It always reduces any blemishes I have and leaves my skin looking matte. I normally use this once or twice a week and I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of it!
Lush’s 1000 millihelens face mask
After loving rosy cheeks so much, I was brave and decided to try one of lush’ jelly face masks. After smelling them all and trying some out on my skin I opted for ‘1000 millihelens. I tend to use this around once every week / every other week and its nice just to mix it up a little rather than sticking to rosy cheeks every single time! I used a knife to cut into small portions, and now each time I want to use it it’s already the perfect size to cover my face. After rubbing the jelly cube between my hands for a few seconds it transforms into a jelly like paste which you rub onto your face. Its so nice and smooth, and when you wash it off its like giving your face a mini massage – perfect for at the end of a stressful day!
Glossier milky jelly cleanser
Lastly, I received this for my birthday after wanting to try it for ages. I love the consistency of this, it really does feel like jelly and is super smooth! It leaves my skin feeling nice and fresh, however I’m not sure it does much when for my problems areas, such as my chin. When I can feel spots coming I prefer to have something with a bit of scrub, so I put this on my no.7 cleansing brush for a little bit more oomph!
The body shop mango body yoghurt
This smells amazing, if I didn’t read the label I would think it was something edible 🙂 I normally smother my arms and legs in this before I go to sleep and now my skin feels much more hydrating, and I also walk around smelling amazing!
