The Vegan Kind – May lifestyle box

If you read my ‘2018 goals‘ blog post you will already know that one of my goals for this year was to eat more vegan food. This is definitely something I have noticed a major improvement with over the past few months – I’ve switched to dairy free milk, butter, and chocolate so far- however one aspect I have struggled with has been snacks. Working in a supermarket means I normally grab my lunch/snacks on my break and often I find I don’t want to waste lots of time trying to read the ingredients list, so when i stumbled on a few bloggers and youtubers talking about The Vegan Kind subscription boxes the idea instantly clicked. I subscribed to the lifestyle boxes straight away (there’s also a vegan beauty box) and eagerly awaited my first box. In each box you get 5 to 8 items and a cute recipe card! Here’s what I got last month….

Belvas Flaked Chocolate Truffles

5 out of 5

These were absolutely divine! The prospect of giving up chocolate has to be one of the biggest reasons I’ve put off going vegan for so long, but these made me realise that you don’t have to give it up to be vegan, there are tasty alternatives out there. These reminded me of truffles I used to buy that I  love so this is a product I would definitely buy myself! Also, it inspired me to go away and try other vegan chocolates and I have developed a new found love for dark chocolate!

BetterYou Boost B12 Oral Spray

2 out of 5 stars

This spray tastes amazing! Its like a shot of tropical-ness … however i’m not really a fan of vitamins so this is probably something I wouldn’t buy myself. But if your looking for vitamin sprays this is perfect, and is a lot nicer than taking a tablet.

Rice, Lentil and Quinoa Herby Geosticks

These were ok as far as healthy crisps go, but as far as an everyday snack this isn’t a product I would really choose or try myself. The texture was slightly odd, and I think I was mostly put off by the strong chive/ sagey taste. However, I did look up the brand and noticed they do these in a sweet chilli flavour, so I’m definitely gonna give them a second chance with that flavour.

I Love Snacks Californian Smoked Almonds

These were amazing! Perfect for snacking and taking to work, and the packaging is really cute.

Turmerilicious Choco Latte

I was really torn with this tumeric latte. I think my initial reservations with the words ‘tumeric’ and ‘latte’ being in the same sentence completely threw me, and this just wasn’t sweet enough for my liking. I do however think if I had a proper milk frother this could have been better, so I’m going to try it in a coffee shop before I 100% make up my mind.

Montezuma’s Dark Chocolate Chilli Mini Bar

This was a big no from me… I’m a massive fan of chocolate and I have the biggest sweet tooth so biting into a chocolate bar and having your head blown off is not my idea of a treat – I do however get that this could be someone else’s. Looking on their website they have an amazing selection of vegan dark chocolate so I will definitely be trying some of those 🙂

YumEarth Organic Fruit Snacks

4 out of 5

And last, but by no means least, were these fruit gummies! These were probably my favourite product – joint with the chocolate truffles – of the box. They tasted just like sweets – not the typical gelatine-free weird consistency. And again they were perfect for snacking.

Did you get TVK may box? If so, what did you think?
