One of mine and josh’s favourite places for a little getaway is Brighton. So when i realised i had some time off around Josh’s birthday in February we decided to pack our bags and head there for a few days, followed by a trip to Bicester in Oxfordshire to see Josh’s family on his actual birthday.
Sunday 11th – off to Brighton
On Sunday we made the four hour journey from Bath to Brighton, and after reading my book and dozing several times i was definitely ready to stretch my legs.

Our first port of call was Dum Dum Donuteria, and as some of you may have seen on my twitter we bought a selection of delicious looking doughnuts and cronuts.

After checking into our hotel we demolished some doughnuts and rested our feet before hitting the shops. I managed to find this adorable plant pot in homesense … as well as a cute mug.
I also bought a few items of clothing. Afterwards we chilled out in the hotel room before we headed to Bella Italia for some yummy pizza ((which of course i was too busy eating to take a picture to share with you))
Monday 12th – exploring

Does anyone else think that premier inn beds are the comfiest? After the best nights sleep we went to wetherspoons where josh got a good ol’ fry up and i got some toast. We then decided to walk along the beachfront to Hove after not having ventured far out of Brighton before.

The weather was perfect and there was so much to see while we walked the 2ish miles along the promenade. When we made it to Hove we stopped in a pub for a drink and then got some chips and sat on the beach, before walking back.

We then wandered around the lanes and the shops surrounding them. Of course I couldn’t resist a lush haul, and instead of buying tonnes of bath bombs, i decided to try out some of their hair care range.

I picked up … and of course it would rude not to buy a single bath bomb while i was in there so I got … Its from their new Mothers Day range and it smells amazing!! Josh also got me two bath bombs among his valentines gifts: …

I also picked up a few things for my mum’s birthday next week. In the evening we went to Wahaca for some yummy mexican food.

Tuesday 13th – Last day and more travelling

We woke up to horrible drizzly rain, and although we shouldn’t complain as the weather was nice for most of our trip, being a seaside town it was bloody freezing. As it was pancake day we headed to crepe affaire where i had a delicious ferrero Roche crepe, and josh had a banana split waffle ((yum)).

We then checked out of our hotel and after dropping josh to cafe Nero i headed back to dum dums to pick up the birthday cake i had bought as a surprise for josh and his sister ((their triplets)). OMG the cake was stunning, and I couldn’t wait to surprise them with it on the day with candles and everything!

After a quick hot chocolate to warm up we walked up to the train station and made the two and a half hour journey to Bicester.

Have you got any cool recommendations for things to do in Brighton? Let me know in the comments because we go every year 🙂

  1. I live in Brighton and it’s my absolute favorite. My favorite thing to do is relax in Pavilion Gardens, go to the pier and walk through the shops. Luckily, you don’t have to break the bank to enjoy Brighton!
