Christmas Makeup Faves

For Christmas I received so much makeup and skin care products I just had to share! I know this blog post is slightly delayed, in that it’s nearly the middle of January ((whoops)), but I wanted to have enough time to try out all of the products before I write about them.I bought one of the Tanya Burr lipsticks a few months ago and fell in love, so when Christmas came around I asked my boyfriend for some more of her products. As it was Christmas he was able to get me one of these fabulous gift sets – unfortunately I couldn’t wait to open it so I forgot to take a photo but here’s what it looked like!

I loved the packaging – it was so pretty, and inside it was 2 lipsticks, 2 cream eye shadow sticks, the sweet cheeks face palette, and the too tempting eye shadow collection.

Tanya Burr lipsticks

In the set were 2 of the lipsticks in the shades ‘Winter’ and ‘Belgian truffle’.

I particularly love Belgian truffle … it’s the perfect every day lipstick and it matches my skin tone well. I have tried out the winter shade, but for me it is more of a shade I would wear on a night out or date night!

Tanya Burr cream eye shadows

This is probably the only aspect of the box that I’m not too sure about! I’ve never used cream eye shadows before, and so when it came to trying them out I was a bit unsure. Included in the box were 2 pretty shades: ‘sweet sugar’ and ‘melt my heart’.

On first glance, I particularly loved sweet sugar, as I love golden // natural shades for my everyday makeup, and as I already mentioned, I tend to save smoky, darker shades for evening looks. However, when I first used it I had to apply quite a lot of product before it was even noticeable, and ended up resorting to adding a shade from the ‘too tempting palette’ on top to make it noticeable. The finishing look was pretty but I wouldn’t say the sweet sugar shade is one I’d use on my eyes alone. The melt my heart shade however was definitely noticeable, and was perfect for crafting smoky eyes.

Tanya Burr sweet cheeks face palette

This is probably one of my favourite products from the set, and I’ve basically used the sweet cheeks palette everyday since. It comes with a highlighter in the shade ‘toffee crunch’, blusher in the shade ‘cocoblush’, and bronzer in the shade ‘champagne truffle’.

It’s perfect for a slight glow on days where I’m going to work or am too lazy to do much, and can be built upon for more contoured looks.

This palette comes in 6 pretty shades: creme de la creme, gold star, hazelnut coco, cookies and cream, Christmas mocha, and chocolate coin.

As well as the Tanya Burr Christmas set, I also received some products from other brands.

Clarins Joli Rouge Lipstick

I already own one of these in the shade ‘grenadine’, but as I love it so much I was starting to run low and panic set in. Because of this, my sister bought me a new one in the shade ‘soft plumb’ and I’m obsessed with the deep red// purple tones. These lipsticks are my absolute favourite, they’re glossy and they smell of berries – they’re amazing!

Pixi Double cleanse

I also received the Pixi double cleanse from my mum, and after hearing so much about this product i was so excited to try it. I have serious stress face at the minute due to crazy assignments and work so I’m hoping this product will save my face!

This product left my skin feeling silky smooth, and I love it just as much as the Clinique take the day off balm ((which i normally use everyday)).

Soap and Glory speed plump moisturiser

Another gift from my boyfriend was the soap and glory speed plump moisturiser, and this is perfect for my morning routine. After i cleanse and tone i apply this, followed by my makeup, and it’s perfect as it keeps my skin moisturised throughout the day and feels almost like a primer.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post! Have you guys tried any of these products?
